Mawlid - Prophet Muhammad's birthday? Male and female names starting with the letters - G

Our Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), the last and greatest Prophet sent by the Creator to save humanity, was born on the night of the 12th of the lunar month of Rabi'ul-Awwal in the Year of the Elephant.
At that time, chaos, ignorance, oppression and immorality reigned on earth. People have forgotten their faith in Allah. Our Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) illuminated the Earth with his birth and illuminated hearts with faith. The era of equality, justice and brotherhood has arrived. People who followed the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) achieved true happiness.

Historians consider the year of his birth to be 571 according to the Christian calendar. The transmission from Ibn Abbas (radiyallahu anhu) says the following: “The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) was born on Monday, on Monday he arrived in Medina, on Monday he passed away into another world. On Monday he installed the Hajar Aswad stone in the Kaaba. On Monday the victory was won in the battle of Badr. On Monday the 3rd verse of Surah Al-Maida came down:
“Today I have completed your religion for you” (Ahmad I, 277; Haythami I, 196)

All these events are signs of the special importance of this day. The night of the birth of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) is called Mawlid and the pious righteous (Wali) consider it the holiest and most revered night of the birth of the Prophet, after Laylatul-Qadr.
The birthday of the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), Mawlid al-Nabi, has been celebrated for many centuries and continues to be celebrated in our time and exists among Muslims as one of the forms of expressing endless love and respect for the Messenger. Although there are, as in the old days, opponents of this holiday. No matter how the latter argue their opinion, there is no harm (even more sin!) from the fact that Muslims gather together to honor the Creator and His Messenger, read the Salavat Sharif together, turn to his life, which has become a standard of morality for believers, and strive to earn his love while performing pious deeds, listen to sermons in your native language, read religious poems and sing munajats, no. This is undoubtedly much better than living without faith in the One and Only Allah, without hope for His forgiveness and not knowing the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).

On Mawlid they also read the Koran, Dhikr, Istighfar, poetic narratives about the birth of the Messenger of Allah, His life and prophetic mission (such a poetic narrative is also called Mawlid), which describe miracles during and after his birth.. Joy is also expressed on Mawlid on the occasion of the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), gratitude for the Mercy of Allah Almighty, who made us from the Ummah of the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), read du'a, give alms, treat the poor, conduct pious conversations. In a word, on this festive night, Muslims show care and attention to the disadvantaged and believers.

Mawlid to the Prophet were usually written and are still being written in a special solemn style and performed in beautiful colors. Every author who dared to write a work about the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), of course, tried to describe as fully as possible the purity of his soul and body, noble qualities of character and behavior, but always realized that neither words nor his talent were enough to say everything about this Great Man. It is not for nothing that one of the most famous authors of the na’t-i sharif, who received the nickname “madih-i Rasul” (praising the Messenger), Hasan ibn Sabit, said: “Do not think that I praised Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) in my own words! I just decorated every syllable with Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) and nothing more!”

The Creator of the Universe expressed the essence of this boundless love for His Messenger with the following command:
“Allah will not punish them when you are with them.” (Al-Anfal 8/33)

This Divine message was sent down regarding the hypocrites. Now let's think about the fact that even if the hypocrites, due to living with Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) in the same country, received such a guarantee, then it is impossible to imagine what mercy the true believers will receive, steadily following in his footsteps. In addition, Muslims not only believe in the mission of Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), they have a strong love for him and are filled with deep respect. This is where all the richness and expressiveness of human speech is not enough! Truly, to the extent that a Muslim loves Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), he will find happiness and peace both in this life and in the Hereafter.

When conducting Mawlid, it is categorically unacceptable to conduct unnecessary conversations, especially about those who are absent, or to violate other requirements of Sharia.

During the life of the Messenger of Allah, Muslims performed everything that is included in Mawlid, but the term “Mawlid” was not used. Some people interpreted the absence of this term in hadiths as an alleged “ban on holding Mawlid.” However, Al-Hafiz Al-Suyuty in the article “Good intentions in performing Mawlid” spoke about the attitude of Sharia to holding the Mawlid of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) in the month of Rabiul-Awwal as follows: “The basis for holding Mawlid is the gathering of people, the reading of individual Surahs of the Koran , stories about those significant events that occurred during the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), an appropriate treat is being prepared. If Mawlid is carried out in this way, then this innovation is approved by Shariah, for this Muslims receive sawab, since it is carried out to exalt the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), in order to show that this event is joyful for believers.” He said: “Wherever Mawlid is read, angels are present, and the mercy and pleasure of Allah descends on these people.”

Also, other famous recognized Ulama, who perfectly knew the subtleties and depth of our religion, for many centuries, without any doubt, approved of the Mawlids and themselves participated in their implementation. There were many reasons for this. Here are some of them:

1. Show love for the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), and, therefore, slave to His birth, Allah Almighty commands us.

2. The Messenger of Allah valued his birth (in particular, He fasted on Mondays, since he was born on Monday), but not the fact of his own biography. He thanked Allah Almighty for creating Him and giving life as a Mercy to all humanity, praising Him for this blessing.

3. Mawlid is a gathering of Muslims to express joy on the occasion of the birth of the Prophet and love for Him. The hadith says that “everyone will find himself on the Day of Judgment next to the one he loves.”

4. The narration of the birth of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) about His life and prophetic mission contributes to obtaining knowledge about the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). And for those who have such knowledge, a reminder of this causes experiences that contribute to strengthening love for the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) and strengthening the faith of Muslims. After all, Allah Himself gives in the Holy Quran many examples from the lives of former Prophets in order to strengthen the heart of the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) and as an edification for believers.

5. The Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) rewarded poets who glorified Him in their works and approved of this.

6. In our religion, the gathering of Muslims for joint worship, studying religion, and giving alms is highly valued.
The question may arise - does the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) need us to read the Mawlid and bless Him? Has he been kind to you? Do you owe him anything? I swear by Allah, there is no one who is kinder to you than our master the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) and there never will be! The Almighty, through the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), brought us from darkness to light, from polytheism to monotheism, from carelessness to humility, from rejection to acceptance, from Hell to Paradise. There is no one among the people who is more caring towards us than our master Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). Even if the above-mentioned blessings were not present in the reading of Mawlid, it would be enough for us to show the sincerity of our love for the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

As we know, from Islamic sources, one of the nurses of the Messenger of Allah was the happiest woman, Sawbiyya. This woman was the slave of Rasulullah's ardent enemy, Abu Lahab.
Having learned from Sawbiyya about the birth of his nephew, Abu Lahab, with joy, granted his slave freedom. Abu Lahab committed this act purely out of family considerations, and it was this act that was credited to him as a benefit in the afterlife.
After the death of Abu Lahab, one of his relatives saw him in a dream and asked:
“How are you doing, Abu Lahab?”
Abu Lahab replied:
“I am in Hell, in eternal torment. And only on Monday night my fate becomes a little easier. On such nights, I quench my thirst with a thin stream of water that flows between my fingers, it brings me coolness. This happens because I freed my slave when she told me the news of the birth of Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). For this, Allah does not leave me with His mercy on Monday night.”

Ibn Jafar said the following about this: “If such an unbeliever as Abu Lahab, only for his close relationship to the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), rejoiced at His birth and committed a good deed, was forgiven by the Lord for one night, who knows what The Lord will bestow blessings on that believer who, in order to win the love of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), opens his soul and shows generosity on this festive night.”

Not everything that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) did not do is forbidden and undesirable. For example, during His life neither the Koran nor hadiths were collected in one book, separate Islamic sciences such as fiqh, aqida, tafsir of the Koran and hadiths, etc. were not formed, there were no Islamic books, educational institutions, there were no Islamic sermons on radio and television, etc. However, this is not only not prohibited, but also desirable, good.

As for the opinion of ignorant people that the supposed holiday on the occasion of the birth of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) speaks of his exaltation, however, the Prophet himself (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: “Do not extol me, as the Christians exalted Isa (alaihi wa sallam) , I am only the Messenger of Allah and his slave." (Ahmad, 1,153)
The scholars of Islam responded that this argument is incorrect. Note that the hadith prohibits exalting in the way Christians do. That is, they say that Isa (alayhi wa sallam) is “the son of God.” As for Mawlid, this does not happen during its celebration, we only remember its moral qualities, which does not contradict Sharia. After all, the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) himself praised his companions during his lifetime, and his companions also praised him, and the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) did not forbid them to do so, but supported them. Often the companions quoted verses and poems next to the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), and he encouraged them. Remember how the people of Medina greeted the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) with a song. Does this act of the Prophet's companions contradict Sharia? If this were so, would the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) remain silent? If the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) was pleased with those who praised him, will he be dissatisfied with us if we remember his moral qualities?

It follows that holding Mawlid is an innovation in the lexical meaning, but in the Shariah meaning it is not an innovation and it is approved by the Shariah, and this cannot be denied in any way. On the contrary, we can call It sunnah, since the Prophet himself (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said that he valued the day of his birth, i.e. he meant that he appreciated the mission that was entrusted to him by the Almighty: to be an example for people in everything. When the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) was asked why he fasted on this day, he replied: “On this day I was born, on this day I was sent (to people) and (on this day) it (the Quran) was sent down to me" (Muslim "Syyam", 197-198).

Mawlid of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) is a holiday for Muslims. This is a special day, a day of gratitude to Allah. Insha Allah, every Muslim, not only on this day, but throughout his entire stay on earth, will strive to learn more about the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), be like him, and will be honored to become his neighbor in Paradise. To do this, you need to sincerely love the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).

Respect for the birthday of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) allows you to renew love for him in your heart, turn to Allah with words of gratitude for sending the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) to this world, read the Koran, trying to delve into the deepest the essence of the message conveyed through the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) is to imagine for a moment what would have happened to the world if this person had not existed.

Mawlid

Today people often ask: “I believe that every day we follow the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and this is already mawlid? Every day we celebrate the birthday of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and rejoice, isn’t it?”

Answer: Yes, every meeting, meeting in which the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is mentioned and the life of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is told, this is already the true type of holding Mawlid, this is our true belief and understanding, this is not an innovation and especially not a ban.

After all, Allah said in the Koran:

وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِلْعَالَمِينَ

(meaning): " We sent you (O Prophet) only as a mercy for the inhabitants of the worlds "(Surah al-Anbiya, verse 107).

As we see, Allah Himself says that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is a mercy for all worlds, and for Muslims, of course, he is a special mercy, because if it were not for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), we, Muslims, would not have acquired the true path. And because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is a great mercy, we Muslims celebrate his birthday, because Allah said in the Quran:

« قُلْ بِفَضْلِ اللَّهِ وَبِرَحْمَتِهِ فَبِذَلِكَ فَلْيَفْرَحُوا هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِمَّا يَجْمَعُون »

(meaning): " Tell (Muhammad) about the gifts of Allah and his mercy and let them rejoice in this, because this is the best of what has been collected "(Sura Yunus, verse 58).

Allah also said:

« إن اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيمًا »
(meaning): " Verily Allah and his angels bless the Prophet, O you who believe, bless him and salute him ».

Allah Himself blesses our Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), and Muslims bless him by performing mawlid.

Basics of Mawlid

The birthday celebration itself is not an innovation, for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) himself celebrated it, as stated in the book Sahih of Imam Muslim that one person asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about his fasting on Monday, then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: “On this day I was born.”

We want to draw the attention of readers to the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): “This is the day on which I was born,” so that we could feel the attitude of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) himself on his birthday, because this is the birthday of the best of all – Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).

As for how to celebrate the birthday of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): talk about his birthday, about his life, character, gathering on his birthday, on Monday. Yes, this is an innovation, but the innovation is commendable in Islam, perhaps even in our time it can become a mandatory innovation.

The founder of Mawlid in its modern form

The first who performed mawlid in the way we do today (read about the life of the Prophet, invite guests, treat parishioners) was the ruler al-Muzaffar Abu Said, son of Zainuddin.

The great scholar and interpreter of the Koran, ibn Kathir (may Allah have mercy on him), said about al-Muzaffar: “ He (Muzaffar) held a big mawlid (gathering everyone) in the month of birth of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Muzaffar was a brave, fair, intelligent man, may Allah have mercy on him "(book "al-Sirat al-Khalabiya", 83–84/1)

As for Mawlid, we need to exalt the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and not think about whether this is an innovation or not!

Mawlid of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is a desirable innovation, and in our time even obligatory, because performing mawlid is one of the great methods of calling to Islam.

In various non-Muslim countries, in particular in African countries, people, having seen meetings of Muslims at which they glorified the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), often accepted Islam themselves, imbued with love for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). That is, the reason for the adoption of Islam by these people is the Mawlid. If Mawlid today is a great method of calling to Islam, then it is not advisable to deny it. And if a person denies mawlid, then perhaps he is ignorant in matters of religion or he has some selfish goals of his own.

Scientists' opinion

Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani (may Allah have mercy on him) cited as an argument about the permissibility and desirability of mawlid what came in the book “Sahih” of Imam Muslim and Imam Bukhari, which describes how the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw that Jews fast on the day of Ashura as a sign of gratitude to Allah for saving Musa (peace be upon him), and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said (meaning): “We are more worthy to exalt Musa (peace be upon him),” and Muhammad (peace be upon him) blessing) made it advisable to fast during this time.

Ibn Hajar further said: “...as we understand, the purpose is to express gratitude to Allah. Gratitude can be of different types: bowing to the ground, fasting, almsgiving, reading the Koran. Is there any greater good than our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and from this we understand that any manifestation of gratitude to Allah is desirable...” (“al-Fatawa al-Kubra”, 196/1).

Ibn Hajar is a great scholar, hadith scholar, and expert on the Koran; one of his words would be enough for us to make an argument. The interpreter of the Koran, the great scientist, Imam al-Suyuta said: “Mawlid is a good innovation, for the commission of which a person receives reward, because it exalts the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and reveals the joy of his birth” (“al-Hawi lil-Fatawa ", 192/1) in some places he says: "It is desirable (mustahab)."

The scholar to whom all the scholars of the al-Shafi'i madhhab refer, Ibn Hajar al-Haytami (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “The final decision on mawlid is that it is a good innovation. Scholars are unanimous that mawlid is a desirable and rewarding action...”

Same opinion:

1) in the book " al-Sirat al-Khalabiya» Ali ibn Burhan;

2) in the book " Sharh al-Mawahi al-Ladunia » Hafiza al-Iraqi ;

3) in the book " al-Mawsua » Abu Shamata Sheikh Imam al-Nawawi;

4) in the book " ad-Duraru al-Saniya » Ahmad Zain al-Dahlan;

5) in the book " Sharh ala Mawlidi ibn Hajara » ibn Abidina;

6) in the book " Ala maida al-Fikr al-Islam » al-Sharawi

7) in the book " al-Mafahim » Sheikh Muhammad al-Alawi al-Maliki and other great imams and scholars of Ahl Sunnah.

Even Ibn Taymiyyah, who is followed by some, said: “Glorifying the birthday of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the gatherings that people make on this day is a very rewarding deed because of the intention of the Muslims and glorifying thereby the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) )" (book "Iktizau ila siraty mustakim").

Conclusion

In this article we have presented a small minority of the arguments that Ahl Sunnah has for the desirability of celebrating the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). We think that someone who sincerely loves the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) does not even need these arguments, because the gathering for mawlid itself already speaks of praise and joy on the occasion of the birthday of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).

We see Muslims all over the world celebrating Mawlid, particularly in the holy lands of Mecca and Medina.

May Allah guide us to the path of truth.

The word "Mawlid" in Arabic means "place of birth" or "time of birth". This word means the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, as well as the tradition of celebrating this event - “Mawlid An-Nabiy”, “Mawlid Al-Sharif”.

Muhammad was the last Prophet and Messenger of the Almighty Creator. He was born on the 12th of the month Rabiul-auual in the Year of the Elephant (1). Thanks to his call, the good news of the Truth spread throughout the world.

Traditionally, Muslims celebrate the Prophet's Mawlid throughout the month of Rabi' al-Awwal, and it is also customary for some nations to celebrate Mawlid at religious gatherings at any time of the year.

During the time of the Prophet, Muslims did not celebrate his birth, and the tradition of celebrating this event appeared later. Thus, Mawlid is one of the good innovations in Islam.

For the first time, Mawlid began to be widely celebrated at the beginning of the 7th century AH on the initiative of the ruler of the Irbil region (2) Muzaffar Abu Said Kaukabriy. He was a pious Muslim and a famous scholar of the time. He was supported by other scientists who also participated in these celebrations. Since then, this tradition has spread throughout the world, and Mawlid (3) texts in poetic form praising the Prophet have been written by Muslim scholars in various languages. To this day, Muslims read these verses during Mawlid.

One of the most famous texts of Mawlid - “Qasida Burda” - was written by the outstanding scientist and poet Saalih Sharafuddin Muhammad Al-Busyriy, who lived in the 7th century AH. This poem became widespread in many Arab countries, as well as in the Caucasus, Asia and other places. It is recognized as one of the greatest testimonies of love for the Messenger of Allah. Here is a short history of how this poem came to be.

It so happened that Imam Al-Busyriy was paralyzed, and half of his body became motionless. But, despite his serious illness, he asked Allah to give him inspiration to compose a poem expressing the greatness and superiority of the Messenger of Allah, Muhammad. And Allah granted him to write beautiful poetry. While composing the final part of the poem, he began to read it from the very beginning and fell asleep while reading. In a dream he saw the Messenger of Allah. The Prophet placed his cape (burda in Arabic) on his body and passed his blessed hand over it. When Imam Al-Busyriy woke up, he was healthy!

Unfortunately, in our time, sects have emerged that oppose the celebration of Mawlid. The main opponent of Mawlid is the Wahhabi sect (4). They reject this tradition on the grounds that it is an innovation, and they consider any innovation to be a delusion.

The linguistic meaning of the concept “innovation” (5) is something that did not exist before. And in Religion, this is something that is not literally mentioned in the Koran and Hadith. According to Sharia, innovations are divided into permitted and prohibited.

In the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad, which was reported by Imam Muslim in the book “Sahih” from Jarir ibn Abdullah Al-Bajali, it is said that it means: “Whoever introduces a good innovation into Islam (6) will receive a reward for it, as well as a reward for those who follow his example, and their reward will not decrease. And whoever tries to introduce a bad innovation into Islam will receive sin for it, as well as sin for those who followed his example, and their sins will not be diminished.”

The righteous caliphs themselves introduced some good innovations. They also approved of the good innovations that other pious Muslims introduced during their reign.

For example:

  • The first caliph, Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, ordered the entire text of the Holy Quran to be collected in one book (Mushaf). During the time of the Prophet, people learned the Qur'an by heart, and some verses were written on pieces of leather and other materials. Abu Bakr ordered the complete text of the Quran to be compiled into a book for the preservation of the Holy Scriptures. This work was completed during the reign of the third caliph Uthman ibn Affan.
  • The second caliph Umar ibn Al-Khattab was the first to gather people to perform Namaz Tarawih collectively behind one imam and said that this was a good innovation. Before this, people performed Namaz Tarawih separately.
  • The third caliph Uthman ibn Affan introduced an additional Azan for Friday Namaz. This Azan sounds as soon as the time for Namaz Zuhr comes and means that the Sermon will begin soon.
  • During the reign of the fourth caliph Ali ibn Abu Talib, dots and vowels were first used when recording the text of the Koran. This was done by the Tabiy scholar Yahya ibn Yamar. His innovation was accepted and approved, as it made it easier to read and study the Holy Scriptures.
  • During the reign of Caliph Umar ibn Abdul Aziz, mihrabs (7) and minarets were built.

Thus, there are many good innovations in Islam that Muslims have been using for a long time. However, those who oppose the Mawlid do not reject them. Moreover, they themselves use them, such as, for example, calendars for determining the times of Namaz, which appeared only 300 years ago, and even print and distribute them.

When Muslims began to celebrate Mawlid, this innovation was approved by Islamic scholars from east to west, including Hafiz Ahmad ibn Hajar Al-Askalaniy and his student Hafiz As-Sakhauy, as well as Hafiz As-Suyuty and others.

Hafiz As-Suyuty wrote in his article: “The proof of the permissibility of holding Mawlid was derived from the hadith by the great hafiz (8) Abul Fadl Ahmad ibn Hajar. And I brought out the second proof...”

He also wrote in this article: “The basis for Mawlid is that people gather together, recite the verses of the Holy Duran, talk about the significant events that occurred during the birth of the Prophet Muhammad, and distribute refreshments. If Mawlid is carried out in this way, then this innovation is approved by Sharia, and for this Muslims receive a reward, since they do this to exalt the Prophet Muhammad and show their joy on the occasion of his birth.”

One of the sectarians' objections to Mawlid is based on the fact that some people commit sins during it.

In fact, many people commit sins even while performing obligatory rituals - for example, they read verses in Namaz with errors or break the rules in Hajj. However, no one cancels the implementation of fards on this basis. In such a situation, the right thing to do is to correct the sinner.

Likewise, during meetings of believers on holidays or in mosques, some people commit sins (for example, gossip or read dhikr with errors). But this does not mean that they should be prohibited from gathering together or not allowed into the mosque.

And during Mawlid, some people make mistakes and commit sins: they distort the Name of God “Allah”, read the Koran incorrectly, use forbidden musical instruments, and also tell fictitious stories about the Prophet that contradict the Religion. Some of them say that the first creation of Allah is the light of the Prophet from His light - this is against the beliefs of Muslims! These beliefs contradict the Koran!

However, such condemnable actions of some people are not a reason to prohibit the celebration of Mawlid, but what should be prohibited is that which contradicts Sharia.

Celebrating Mawlid - the birth of the Prophet Muhammad - is a permitted and approved matter. There is a special benefit and barakah in celebrating this joyful event. Mawlid renews and strengthens in a Muslim the love for the Messenger of Allah and the desire to act as he taught.

You can express gratitude to Allah in different ways: by performing additional Namaz, observing Fasting, reading the Koran, giving alms to those in need. And how can one not express gratitude to Allah Almighty for such a great blessing - the birth of the Prophet Muhammad!

Therefore, Muslims all over the world celebrate Mawlid, following the good tradition of pious ancestors. Believers gather in homes and mosques to share the joy of this great event, read the Holy Quran, talk about the life of the Prophet Muhammad, listen to religious lessons and chants (madihi, munajats), exalting the Creator and praising His Messenger, treat those gathered and distribute alms to the poor. All these are good deeds for which reward is promised.

It follows that holding Mawlid is an innovation approved by Shariah, and in no case should it be denied or prohibited. On the contrary, we can call it sunnah, since the Prophet himself said: “Whoever introduces a good innovation into Islam (9) will receive a reward for it, as well as a reward for those who follow his example, and their reward will not be diminished.”

Those who prohibit the celebration of Mawlid have themselves deviated from the path of truth - Ahlus-sunnah wal-jamaa. In words, they oppose any innovations (10), call themselves “Salafis” and believe that they are fighters for the “purity of Islam.” But in fact, their beliefs are the very dangerous innovations that the Prophet warned about! Namely, the distortion of the very foundations of the Faith: likening Allah to created things, attributing to Him location, movement, organs, and so on - all this is not Islam!

They not only oppose Mawlid, but also forbid the muezzin to read salawat out loud after the azan, praising the Prophet Muhammad, and also forbid heading towards the grave of the Messenger of Allah while reading dua. They prohibit the use of relics of the Prophet for blessing (tabarruk) and turning to Allah through His Messenger (tawassul). They say that after the death of the Prophet there is no benefit from him and therefore they forbid Muslims to address him with the words: “O Muhammad!”

Doesn’t all this indicate that in fact, in their hearts there is hidden hatred for the best of creatures - our beloved Prophet?!

Indeed, Allah knows what is in their hearts, and the time of Accounting will come.

Mawlid is a symbol of sincere love for the Prophet, peace be upon Him.

Very soon, Muslims around the world will celebrate a significant event - the birth of the Prophet Muhammad in the name of the Prophet "Muhammad" the letter "x" is pronounced like ح in Arabic, peace be upon Him. This day illuminated the world with rays of truth, justice and goodness. It became the greatest milestone in spreading love, peace and happiness. Therefore, I would like to remind Muslims just before the onset of the month in which the Messenger, peace be upon him, was born. Our elders treated this great event with special attention and honor, from whom we, in fact, received this wonderful gift - hosting the Maulid. Don't forget about that either. that in our time many not only do not understand the essence of Maulid (Mevlud), but also simply do not know what it is. Given this fact, it would be appropriate to start with a brief description of the essence of this holiday, as well as highlight its spiritual and religious components.

This wonderful tradition is maintained in all Muslim states. A lot of books by scientists have been written about her, poems and poems are dedicated to her.

Mawlid celebration

The incentive that encourages ordinary believers to celebrate this holiday, and scientists to write great works, is an Ayat from the Holy Qur'an this word must be read in Arabic as - الْقُـرْآن. which says, meaning:

"And do good deeds"

In order to realize the majesty of Mawlid, to comprehend this great and good deed, it is enough for sincere people to learn about the purpose of this celebration, the essence, as well as how it is carried out.

Mawlid is a symbol of love for the Prophet, peace be upon Him. Thus, Muslims express their gratitude to Allah for the mercy sent in the person of the Great Prophet, peace be upon him. It is known that it is advisable to fast Sunnah (desirable fast) on Monday. Once the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, was asked the reason why it is advisable for Muslims to observe the fasting sunnah on this particular day. The Prophet, peace be upon him, replied: “On this day I was born.” Thus, the Messenger of Allah himself, peace be upon him, pointed out this. that fasting on this day is gratitude to Allah for sending us the Prophet, peace be upon him. If fasting on this day is permitted, expressing gratitude to Allah, then it follows that performing other good deeds that express gratitude to the Creator is also permitted. Undoubtedly, Mevlud is such a gratitude. This holiday, including the listed spiritual components, also covers many other aspects, which together can become an important step in spiritual development for a believer.

Despite. that this celebration in various Muslim countries has its own distinctive characteristics, the reason for which is originality and linguistic diversity, however, one can also point to general principles characteristic of all believers.

The celebration of Mevlud opens, like any other event of this kind, with the reading of the Holy Quran. Then, while the meal is being prepared, one of the believers reads in a beautiful, singing voice the biography of the Prophet, peace be upon Him: about birth, life and other significant events that took place in His wonderful life.

One of the features of Mevlud is the collective praise of the Prophet, peace be upon him, by reading various salauats. It is confirmed by two reliable hadiths (sayings of the Prophet, peace be upon Him) that the collective praise of the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon Him, is approved by the Shari'ah. One of these hadiths was narrated by Imam Ahmad nbn Hanbal in his book Musnad. It tells that the Ethiopians, being in the mosque of the Prophet, peace be upon him, read praise in their own language. The Prophet, who heard this reading, asked about the meaning of their words. They answered that these words meant: “Truly, Muhammad is a pious servant of Allah.” And the Prophet, peace be upon Him, approved of this act.

The book “Musnad Al-Bazzar” says that the Ethiopians, accompanying the reading of Salawat with a dance, read: “Abul-Gasim-tayyib.” This Salauat means: “Abul-Gasim is pious.” Abul-Gasim is one of the names of the Prophet, peace be upon him. The Messenger, peace be upon Him, being an eyewitness to this reading, did not prohibit it and did not speak out against its collective performance.

Praising the Prophet, peace be upon Him, is one of the types of ‘ibadah (worship of Allah). By gathering together, Muslims during the moments of the holiday can feel the unity of hearts in love for the Great Prophet, peace be upon Him. At these moments, believers feel unprecedented unity, cohesion and love for each other. Muslims, by performing this great deed, by the Will of Allah, can receive baraka (blessing) from Allah; the sick who attended such a meeting may leave it already healthy, and the sad and sorrowful will feel unprecedented strength and healing of souls and hearts.

Muslim names for boys and girls

The problem of naming is still relevant today. Each of us undoubtedly faced this problem at the time of the birth of a child. We painstakingly go through dozens of names before settling on one of the options. You always want to find something beautiful, not contrary to traditions and religion, but at the same time simple, easy to pronounce. The euphony of a name plays an important role in social society. There are cases when parents, under the influence of personal emotions and ideological ideas, called their children names that did not correspond to the moral and ethical principles in Muslim society. For example, during the all-Union construction of communism in some Turkic peoples, children were given the name “Lenur” - Lenin Nury (Lenin’s Light), “Marlene” - Marx and Lenin and other political names. It is also worth noting the problem of the disappearance from the language of such letters as “ه” - h and “ح” - X. For example, Asan, Usein, Usnie. These are names generally accepted in the Muslim world, like the same root words “ X asana" - » " X usain" - " X Yusniyay”, from Arabic - refined, graceful, good. The reason for the disappearance of the mentioned letters in the language of the Turkic peoples is the replacement of Arabic script with Latin or Cyrillic.

Some Turkic peoples to this day maintain an interesting tradition of calling a weakened newborn the name Tursun or Yashar, Omur. In particular, Azerbaijanis call Dursun or assign the name of the father and mother. No one will deny the fact that the name is a kind of carrier of any information. A Muslim name can carry the memory of the family of Prophets and their loved ones, peace be upon them. To testify to the humility and faith of a Muslim in the existence of One Allah, as well as on the Day of Judgment. This is noticeable in the example of names based on: ‘abd (‘ibad), safe and nur. Variants of the Arabic term “Abd” are interpreted as: slave. Safe is like a sword, and nur is a ray, light. Let us pay attention to the following names: ‘Abdullah, ‘Abdura X man, 'Abdul To adir, ‘Abdussamad, Seyfuddin, Nureddin and others.

It must be said that not only newlyweds, but also their parents and grandparents take part in the process of naming a child. In most cases, young people, as a sign of respect and gratitude, leave the last word to their elders. This is actually the mentality of the Crimean Tatar people.

In the traditions of some Muslim Turks, there is a special approach to names; the wife often addresses her husband without mentioning his name. For example, an Uzbek woman calls her husband “khodzhayyn” (but the etymology of the Russian word “master”), otasi is the father of the children. In Crimean Tatar houses, and especially these are families with a long history, they address each other as: akay, apay or kishi, apakay, avrat, etc. The word "awrat" is applied to women because they have parts of their bodies that they must cover in front of other men. (The whole body except the face and hands).

Returning directly to our topic, it is enough to remember our compatriots who have double names. For example: Kurt-Sabe. Kurt-Ali, Kurt-Asan, Kurt-Osman, Seit-Asan, Seit-Bekir, Seit-Belyal, Seit-Veli, Mambet-Ali. Let's remember the forms of names in pre-war Crimea, these are the names of famous classics of Crimean Tatar literature: Hassan Sabri, Hussein Shamil, Umer Fehmi and others. Sometimes among readers there are those who confuse their second non-official names with surnames. For, as we know, in surnames of Turkic origin there are no endings typical for Slavic peoples such as: ov/ova, ev/eva. Currently, some Crimean Tatar cultural figures, in order to emphasize patriotism, deliberately cut off such endings from personal surnames. For example, Shakir Selim(s), Shevket Ramazan(s), Aider Memet(s), Fetta Akim(s), Aishe Koki(eva), Sheryan Ali(ev). According to some reports, the above-mentioned paired names were assigned to children in order to avoid misunderstandings between fellow villagers with the same names. Perhaps there are other motives here. At the moment, this issue remains poorly studied. Along with names, there are also various pseudonyms and nicknames. If usually creative people or, less often, political figures, along with their real personal name, ascribe to themselves a pseudonym, then nicknames are assigned to a certain person directly by the people around him.

With the intention of recalling ancient traditional Muslim names, we are starting to publish the most frequently used names. The article is based on a reference book of Turkic names, Arabic-Russian, Ottoman-Turkish and other dictionaries.

Observing Oraz in the month of Ramadan is a special worship, and it has benefits both in this life and in the next life. A fasting person has two joys: the first in this world, when he breaks his fast after fasting, and the second in the next world, when he will be given the opportunity to see Allah. in the name of God in Arabic “Allah”, the letter “x” is pronounced like ه Arabic without place, without image and without distance. A Muslim who observes Fasting, in shaa Allah, will enter Paradise. In addition, Fasting is good for health. People who fast during the month of Ramadan become more merciful, more compassionate and help the poor, since they themselves had to feel the feeling of hunger and thirst. People become more God-fearing, commit fewer sins and quarrel less. The health of people who observe Fasting is noticeably improved. Therefore, you need to strive to maintain the health that you were able to improve thanks to the beneficial effects of Fasting.

During the month of Ramadan, people limit themselves in food, as a result, the heart works less hard and blood pressure decreases. Cholesterol levels are reduced and blood circulation is normalized. Therefore, fasting is especially useful for people suffering from cardiovascular diseases. These patients feel significantly better.

Compliance with Fasting helps to reduce excess weight. This helps treat rheumatism, as the load on the joints is reduced. Scientists state that patients with rheumatism improve their health during the month of Ramadan. First of all, this is due to a certain diet. In the future, such patients may also have a chance to completely abandon drug treatment.

Fasting is also useful for people suffering from allergies and respiratory-bronchial diseases. Compliance with Fasting is especially important for patients with bronchial asthma. If a patient with a similar illness adheres to a certain diet for a year, his stomach becomes less full and does not put pressure on the diaphragm. Accordingly, it does not make breathing difficult.

A special diet should be followed after the month of Ramadan. You should try to limit yourself from consuming large amounts of salt and fat. As a result, excess salts in the blood are noticeably reduced and blood pressure decreases.

Also, eating foods low in salt and fat reduces the likelihood of skin inflammatory diseases, and in particular acne.

Restricted food intake helps lower blood sugar levels in diabetic patients. Thus, the load on the pancreas is reduced, and thereby the production of excess insulin in the body is reduced.

Excessive food consumption leads to accelerated aging of the body. This is due to a disruption in the process of regeneration and cell division.

Abuse of sweets, as well as overeating, causes irreparable damage to the body, since due to impaired arterial circulation and increased blood pressure, various abnormalities occur in the heart and liver.

Indeed, for observing the Fast during the month of Ramadan in the name of Allah, a Muslim receives a great reward.

Adhering to Oraz means strengthening health and strength of spirit in the name of Allah.

Mawlid - Prophet Muhammad's birthday?

May Allah bless him and greet him.

What takes place in most birthday celebrations is not free from disapproval, heresy and violation of norms. Celebrations on this occasion were not organized by the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), nor his companions and tabeen, nor the four imams, nor anyone else who lived in better times. There is no legal indication of the need for such a celebration.

The contradiction of this holiday with Islam:

1. Very often, the manifestation of polytheism is allowed by Muslims who celebrate the birthday of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who say, “O Messenger of Allah, we rely on you! O Messenger of Allah, take away our sadness! When sadness sees you, it will immediately run away!” If the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had heard these words, he would have condemned them as the greatest manifestation of polytheism, since only Allah can save, serve as a support and take away sorrow, because the Almighty said "Or who answers the oppressed when he calls on Him, and who takes away evil..."(Ants, verse 62). Allah commanded His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) to tell people “I command neither evil nor straight path for you.”(Jinns, verse 21). The Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: If you ask, then ask Allah, and if you seek help, then turn to Allah.". (at-Tirmidhi confirmed the authenticity of the hadith).

2. During most birthday celebrations, there is exaggeration and unnecessary, excessive glorification of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), while the Prophet himself (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) forbade this, saying “Do not extol me, as the Christians exalted the son of Maryam. Truly, I am just a slave. Therefore, speak as a servant of Allah and his messenger.”.(al-Bukhari).

3. In the Mawlid "Al-Arus" and in other mawlids it is said that Allah created Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) from His light, and that He created all things from his light. The Qur'an rejects such claims as false. “Say: “I am only a man like you, a revelation has been sent down to me that your God is one God...”(Cave, verse 110). It is known that the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was born of parents. He is a person distinguished by the fact that Allah has sent down revelation to him. In the Mawlidah they say, “Allah created the world for the sake of Muhammad.” However, this does not correspond to the Qur'an, which states “I created the jinn and people only so that they would worship Me.”(Scatterers, verse 56).

4. Christians celebrate Jesus' birthday as well as their own birthdays. It is from them that Muslims took this heresy and celebrate the birthdays of their Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and their own birthdays.. But they (Muslims) the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) warns against this “Whoever imitates a nation belongs to it.”

5. Often during Mawlid, men and women gather together, and this is prohibited by Islam.

6. In connection with the celebrations of the birthday of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), millions are spent on various decorations and illuminations, which are then thrown away without any benefit. Only the infidels benefit from this, from whose countries all these decorations are imported. But the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) condemns waste!

7. People, busy with matters related to preparing for celebrations, sometimes, as I myself have seen, are forced to skip prayers.

8. It has become a custom for people to stand in certain places during Mawlidah when reading certain surahs of the Koran as a sign of respect for the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), waiting for his appearance. However, this is an obvious lie, as Allah Almighty says: "...and behind them (the dead) is a barrier until the day they are resurrected"(believers, verse 100).. Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said " There was no person whom they (the Companions) loved more than the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), but when they saw him, they did not get up, because they knew how much he did not love him.". (Reliable hadith. Narrated by Ahmad and at-Tirmidhi).

9. Some claim that they read the life of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) at mawlidahs. However, their words are at odds with what the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said and with the story of his life. A person who loves the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) reads the description of his life not once a year, but every day. In addition, the month of Rabiul-Awwal is not only the month in which Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was born, but also in which he died. So there is no joy where there is sadness.

10. Quite often, those participating in Mawlidah stay awake until midnight and miss at least the collective morning prayer, or even the time of this prayer.

11. The fact that many people celebrate mawlid and celebrate the birthday of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) does not matter at all, since Allah Almighty says "If you listen to the majority of those on earth, they will lead you astray from the path of Allah..."(Scot, verse 116). Huzaifa says " Every innovation is a sin, even if people consider it good.”

12. Hasan al-Basri said “The possessors of the Sunnah were the fewest among people in the past and will be so in the future. These are those who did not fall into luxury along with those who fell and did not succumb to heresy along with the heretics, who remained faithful to the Sunnah, adhering to it until they met their Lord. Be like that too!

13. The first to introduce Mawlid was al-Muzaffar, the ruler of Syria at the beginning of the seventh century Hijri. And in Egypt, this holiday was introduced by the Fatimids, whom Ibn Kathir called infidel atheists (See the chapter of this book “Tombstones and Mausoleums”).
